How to get started:
We’re a independent publisher, so we are selective about the titles we represent, but we are also very friendly and it’s easy to submit to us – follow the simple steps at the bottom of this page.
We publish memoir, local history, poetry, children’s books and fiction. We like our authors to feel empowered and proud of the direction their work is taking, so please get in touch. Why submit to us?
Our authors come to us because we treat each work as the individual it deserves to be. We’re an independent publisher operating on a collaborative basis. This means that the author shares some of the costs of getting their work into print, but in most other ways we operate on a mainstream publishing model, particularly in terms of how we present and distribute our titles. We are selective about the titles we represent, and each of our titles is creatively produced to reflect the author’s unique voice. We are friendly and we take our role very personally, and this could well be the publishing experience you have been hoping for.
What are we looking for?
First and foremost, our authors are committed and enthusiastic about their work. Our submissions process is easy and at the moment we’re particularly keen to hear from authors of personal memoir, poetry and fiction.
We’re also open for submissions for children’s books, particularly for reading age children. We love stories with a connection to fairy tales or magic. Our picture books often feature nature or countryside.
We’re also assessing the potential for publishing stories written by children for children, so if you know a gifted young writer, get in touch!

What happens when we agree to publish a work?
All manuscripts go through a thorough editing process before they are released. Naturally, we undertake all design work, including layout and cover design, and we can even scan images (eg old family photographs for your memoir, or illustrations). Our books are known for their beautifully written content and their elegant presentation.
Where will your books be sold?
We are a publisher, so we routinely publish in paperback for the distribution network that supplies UK bookshops, and also worldwide through Amazon and ebook. Your book will be showcased in our rural base and we can even host an informal event for you if you have local guests you’d like to invite.
What about marketing support?
Book marketing is daunting but not as challenging as it may seem. You have a unique to story to tell and it makes a big difference when you have a publisher working with you to help you to find the best way to share it. We are active on social media and have plenty of experience of reaching out to the local and regional press. We give plenty of advice and we can support you with marketing material for your events. Most importantly, you will have a publisher representing you and your book as you get to grips with all that you can do to reach your readers.

How to submit your manuscript
Please get in touch by email. We’d love to hear from you. Ideally, your email will include a short description of your book and your plans. You should also include the manuscript as a Word document or .pages file. If you are more comfortable submitting a short sample of your work, this is fine. And you are always welcome to ask any questions you may have.
Once we’ve received your manuscript, we’ll get back to you swiftly with our thoughts.
We are selective about the titles we publish, but we’re also very friendly. You can be a new author or an established name. All of our authors have an original story to tell and you could be just the writer we are looking for.
